How to Browse & Buy South African Art Online

You are welcome to browse our collection of South African art and artists online, from the comfort of your home or office.

Online at Fine Art Portfolio we offer you direct access to over 5000 unique artworks represented by over 200 established South African artists. Many of our collections are also available to view in person in our nine established ‘bricks & mortar’ South African galleries, located across South Africa. But here online, you have access to all the artworks, all the artists and all the galleries – in one place at one time.

How to Browse:

You can browse in four main ways:
• By ‘Artists’ or by ‘Art Categories’. You can access these two entry points via the golden main navigation bar at the top of our website’s homepage.
• Quick Search
• Advanced Search

By Artist - to view an artist’s entire online portfolio of works:
When you mouse over the ‘Artists’ link in the main navigation bar, you will see a dropdown bar appear, where you can see listed in priority our ten Most Popular artists (as voted for by our customers) as well as an alphabetic list. If you know the name of the artist you’re searching for, you can click on the letter that corresponds with the first letter of that artist’s surname. Alternatively you can simply click on the ‘Artists’ link in the main navigation bar itself to be taken to a new page that lists all the artists, grouped alphabetically by surname.

By Art Category – to view all works by all artists within a specific art category:
When you mouse over the ‘Art Categories’ link in the main navigation bar, you will see a dropdown bar appear, where you can see listed alphabetically all the art categories available. Simply click on the text of the art category that you want to browse to view all artists’ works within that specific art category.

Quick Search – to quickly find a specific artwork:
Located at the very top of the website at any stage, above the golden main navigation bar. If you know the either the artwork reference number or artwork title of the artwork that you are searching for, simply enter it into the search window and click on the magnifying glass icon. You will be taken directly to the artwork you’re looking for.

Advanced Search – to refine your search using multiple parameters:
Link located just below the quick search tool. Specify from one up to as many as five different search parameters to refine your search terms. You can choose from Artist, Art Category, Price Minimum, Price Maximum, Medium and Sort By. Once you’ve selected your search parameters, simply click advanced search to be taken to all your search results.

How to Buy South African Art Online:

Single Artwork:
While on the page displaying the image of the artwork together with all the artwork specifications, you can simply complete the enquiry form and submit your online art enquiry.

Multiple Artworks:
As you browse you can add artworks to your favourites using the 'Add to Favourites' link on each artwork's enquiry page. Then you can view and edit your selection of artworks (via the 'My Favourites' link) before completing and submitting one single online art enquiry.

Here on this page you will be able to:

• View an enlarged image of the artwork
• View the artwork's specifications
• View the artist’s resume`
• View the price breakdown in ZAR (South African Rands) – excluding VAT, VAT and including VAT.
• View and translate the Rand amount into foreign currency using our live Currency Converter
• Submit an online art enquiry for your artwork.
• Then, depending on your enquiry, you can additionally note if you would like to:
  •  Purchase this artwork
  •  Be advised on the artwork’s location – should you wish to find out if the artwork is close enough to you to go and view in person.
  •  Get a shipping quote. Ticking this box will offer additional space to enter your full daytime delivery address in this regard.

Once you’ve completed the form, simply click ‘Send Enquiry’. We will then respond to your art enquiry via email as soon as possible, confirming the details of your artwork enquiry and advising on payment procedure.

For payment, we are able to accept:
• EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)
• Cash Deposit (in Rands, within South Africa only)
• PayPal

Once payment has been successfully received, we will raise your tax invoice and proceed with packaging and delivery accordingly.

Your purchase will also be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and value – for your insurance purposes.
