Landscape art very rarely includes human figures, and usually depicts vast scenery including mountains, hills, trees, hills and flowers. Key elements of landscape art include perspective, use of colour, tone, and mood that also come from depicting the weather and lighting of the scene. From arid Karoo plains and dry river beds, lush forest and sweeping mountain ranges, to picturesque Winelands and agricultural landscapes, South Africa’s landscape paintings are vast and diverse, as is her natural landscape.
